Privacy Policy

1. Who this covers

This policy covers visitors to whimsycloud.app, waitlist signups, and people who create accounts or use the Whimsy Cloud app. Contact: support@whimsycloud.app.

2. Information we collect

• Waitlist: email address, optional name or interest fields you submit, and basic technical logs needed to run the form.
• Account: email, authentication data (via our auth provider), profile details you choose to provide (such as display name or home city), and birthday when required for age-gated cash-prize events.
• Camera & photos: images you capture or submit for cloud grading and collection. Photos are intended to be of the outdoor sky.
• Location: precise or approximate location when you grant permission (for example, to support outdoor capture expectations or location-related features). You can change permission in device settings.
• Gameplay: grades, scores, energy use, collection/storage data, match and event participation, tutorial progress, and similar product telemetry.
• Purchases: subscription and in-app purchase status processed by Apple, Google, and/or RevenueCat (or similar). We receive entitlement and transaction metadata, not your full payment card number.
• Ads: if you watch rewarded ads, ad networks (such as Google AdMob) may collect device and advertising identifiers under their policies.
• Device & diagnostics: app version, device type/OS, crash and performance data, and IP address as processed by our hosting and backend providers.
• Website analytics: page views and related usage metrics on whimsycloud.app via Vercel Web Analytics (privacy-oriented; no advertising cookies).
• Support: content of messages you send to support@whimsycloud.app.

3. How we use information

• Operate the waitlist and send launch / contest updates
• Create and secure accounts; provide gameplay features
• Grade cloud photos using automated systems that may include third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI) acting as processors for us
• Run matches, events, leaderboards, and contests
• Process purchases and restore entitlements
• Show optional rewarded ads where enabled
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations
• Respond to support requests and improve the Services
• Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Use

4. AI grading

When you submit a cloud for grading, the image and related request data may be sent to an AI provider to produce a grade and feedback. We use this to power core gameplay. Do not submit photos you are not comfortable processing for that purpose. We do not sell your photos as a standalone product.

5. How we share information

We share information with service providers who help us run the Services, such as:

• Hosting and backend (for example, Vercel, Supabase)
• Authentication and email delivery providers
• AI grading providers
• App stores and purchase/entitlement platforms
• Advertising SDKs when ads are enabled

We may also share information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, financing, or sale of assets. We do not sell your email address. Some advertising or analytics partners may process device identifiers in ways that qualify as a "sale" or "share" under certain US state laws — you can limit tracking in device settings and contact us for requests.

Limited profile or gameplay information may be visible to other players in matches, events, or leaderboards (for example, display name and scores).

6. Retention

We keep waitlist emails until you ask to be removed or we end the waitlist program. Account and gameplay data are kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for backups, disputes, and legal requirements. You can request deletion as described below.

7. Your choices

• Decline camera or location permission (some features will not work)
• Limit ad tracking in iOS/Android settings
• Unsubscribe from marketing emails via the link in the message
• Request access, correction, or deletion by emailing support@whimsycloud.app, or use in-app account deletion where available

8. Children

The waitlist and Services are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/EEA/UK where that higher age applies). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below those ages. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International users

We may process information in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. If you access the Services from outside those regions, you understand your information may be transferred to those locations.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy by posting a new version with a revised "Last updated" date. Material changes for account holders may also be communicated in-app or by email when appropriate.
